The INTERNATIONAL DART PLAYERS ASSOCIATION was inaugurated in 1994 and is an Independent recognised Darts Body that consists of players of both sexes and creates a forum for discussion and co-operation between all players and Governing Bodies of darts namely the World Darts Federation and the National Darts Orgnaisations in all of its 51 Member Countries.It has already been seen that such a forum plays an important and positive role in the promotion and administration of the Sport of Darts and that IDPA has proved to be of great benefit and assitance to all aspring dart players irresepective of ability. As IDPA member Roger Carter recently said in the ADO journal “Double Eagle” “It makes no difference whether you are number 1 or number 100 you get the same service from the IDPA”.

The IDPA provides a central information centre for all its members with regards to Tournaments worldwide, hotel and travel packages for events, up to date ranking systems, a monthy magazine “The Arrow”, a full range of general information including legal and financial advice and assistance in the negoiation of commercial contracts if so requested plus representation on all matters appertaining to members playing careers and the promotion of the Sport of Darts.

The IDPA also acts as a body through which Members may voice their opinions and make suggestions on all aspects of the Sport. To further promote the Sport the IDPA undertakes many projects to provide a positive playing arena for all dart dart players.

The IDPA has become a integral part of the Sport of Darts with regular meetings between the Association and National Governing Bodies. Officially recognised by the World Darts Federation the IDPA offers a full range of services that are just a telephone call, fax or e-mail away. The Members play the darts and the IDPA act on their behalf to take care of all the players darting needs.
